It can also be used to treat genital herpes, which causes sores on the lips and face.

Zovirax Cold Sore Cream is applied 1 to 3 times daily. You should start to feel better within 10 days of continued use. It is important to continue treatment for at least 3 days before performing any sexual activity. Continue treatment for 3 days before sexual activity if you:

• are allergic to acyclovir in any form or to any of the ingredients in Zovirax Cold Sore Cream
• have ever had an allergic reaction to acyclovir or any of the ingredients in Zovirax Cold Sore Cream
• are pregnant or are breast-feeding

Zovirax Cold Sore Cream is not suitable for children under 16 years of age. Always consult your doctor before starting treatment.

Warnings for Zovirax Cold Sore Cream

Do not use Zovirax Cold Sore Cream if:

• you are allergic to acyclovir in any form or to any of the ingredients in Zovirax Cold Sore Cream
• you are currently pregnant or are breastfeeding
• you are receiving immunizations against the herpes virus, such as the varicella-zoster virus, chickenpox, or herpes simplex
• you have ever had an allergic reaction to acyclovir or any of the ingredients in Zovirax Cold Sore Cream
• have ever had an allergic reaction to any of the ingredients in Zovirax Cold Sore Cream
• are receiving immunizations against the herpes virus, such as the varicella-zoster virus, chickenpox, or herpes simplex
• are taking any other antiviral medications

• you are taking:
• anticoagulants (blood thinners), such as warfarin, clopidogrel, or itraconazole

• some antidepressants, including linezolid, eletriptan, frovatriptan, sotalol, and risperidone

Zovirax Cold Sore Cream is not recommended for use in children under 16 years of age.
